As any pet part of a dense, shrubby surrounding, it could be difficult to find foodstuff or only survive. In Upton Sinclairs' novel, The Jungle, this individual expresses the idea of a jungleвЋЇSocial Darwinism, fending for yourself, and working together. Using these concepts, he resembles the life of Jurgis wonderful family whom faces these types of struggles in order to attempt to accomplish the American dream. The Jungle metaphorically paints a photo of the economic situation and the terrible conditions Jurgis and his family members face in the Chicago meatpacking plants.

The life in Packingtown resembles the new world life because the weak and the old are rejected, while the strong plus the young will be wanted intended for awhile, which is the main thought in Interpersonal Darwinism. Since Jurgis great family concerns Chicago to chase the American dream—the idea that work and morality will bring all of them material accomplishment and joy they face the brutality and struggles of working. When Jurgis arrived, he was a clean cut, ready for work, together a husky figure. When he was over worked, and broke his leg, he was unable to provide for his friends and family. That led to the drop of their relatives.

As the family battled as one, all of them had to fend for themselves.
