Discussion and Turmoil Application Paper I immigrated to the United States a few years back in pursuit of degree and a successful career. I discovered that I were required to significantly readjust the behaviors engrained in me via childhood through interacting with new comers and working with conflicts. My personal traditional and conservative parental input in India provided a sheltered environment and designed me in listening and obeying elders and staying away from conflict at any cost. It was my personal belief that any turmoil big or small with the close kinds would cause a strain inside the relationships. Hence, I typically avoided clashes and let in the wishes of others with the cost of my very own. I deemed this readily adaptive mother nature of my very own as one of my biggest strong points and required pride in the fact that I was rarely involved with a turmoil. вЂў In 1996, We started my personal Master's system at George Mason College or university (GMU) in Fairfax, Virginia. While at school, I lived in an apartment writing it with a few roommates who had been complete other people to me at that point. This was my first major experience getting together with strangers on a regular basis. Conflicts had been very common among our roommates. Initially, I dealt with those conflicts in a similar manner I used to within my childhood by avoiding conflict as much as possible to accommodating the wishes of others. One of the roommates was Raj, who was playful in nature and more of an extrovert than me. Because the beginning I had been not very fond of him. He always employed tease persons around him. He teased me many time in the presence of others. Although I felt uncomfortable with this at times, I would only avoid him and ignore his comments. However , my own behavior altered one day whilst dining by restaurant when ever Raj built a brief review mocking the way in which in which I actually held my own fork and knife.
